DIN 12.9 Grade High Strength Hex Bolts and Nuts , also called hexagon bolts or hex screws. Standard bolts are divided into three types A, B, and C grades, A and B grades are precision bolts that are used less frequently, Generally speaking, ordinary bolts refer to C-class ordinary bolts.
Grade A – headed bolts, threaded rods, and bent bolts with a minimum tensile strength of 60 ksi for a wide range of general-purpose applications. Grade B – heavy hex bolts and studs with a tensile strength of 60 to 100 ksi for flanged joints in piping systems with cast iron flanges. In some temporary connections and connections to be dismantled, C-grade ordinary bolts are commonly used. Common bolts commonly used in building structures are M16, M20, and M24. Some mechanical industry rough bolts may have large diameters and special uses
Application: The DIN High Strength Hex Bolts and Nuts are normally fixed with nuts, which are used to fasten and connect two connected parts and components through holes. Hexagon bolts are the most commonly used bolts. There are A-level and B-level outer hexagons that are used more and are more important. And it is used more in occasions where the assembly precision is high, and it is subjected to large shock, vibration, or cross-rate load. The C-grade external hexagon screws are used for occasions where the surface is relatively rough and the assembly accuracy is not high.
The threads on the hex bolts are generally ordinary threads and are mainly used for thin-walled parts or occasions subjected to shock, vibration, or alternating load. Generally, the hexagon bolts are partial threads, and the full-threaded hex bolts are mainly used for the outer hexagon with short nominal lengths and occasions requiring longer threads. - (2) The pressure-bearing high-strength bolts take the slippage between the plates as the normal use state and the connection failure as the bearing capacity state.
- Friction-type high-strength bolts cannot give full play to the potential of bolts. In practical applications, friction-type high-strength bolts should be used for very important structures or structures bearing dynamic loads, especially when the load causes reverse stress. At this time, the unused bolt potential can be used as a reserve. In other places, pressure-bearing high-strength bolts should be used to reduce the cost
