Solid Rivets Specification
Solid rivets are among the simplest, most reliable, and oldest types of fasteners. These simple devices consist of a solid shaft with a head on one end; once installed, the headless end of a solid rivet is deformed with a hammer or rivet gun to hold it in place.
Such rivets come with a Round head, pan, 100 degrees countersunk, 90 degrees countersunk, and flat head.Typical materials for aircraft rivets are aluminum alloys(2017,2024,2117,7050,5056,55000,V-65)titanium,and nickel-based alloys.
A rivet compression or crimping tool can also deform this type of rivet. this tool is mainly used on rivets close to the edge of the fastened materials since the tool is limited by the depth of its frame
Solid Rivets Application
Solid rivets are used in applications where reliability and safety count. A typical application for solid rivets can be found within the structural parts of aircraft. Hundreds of thousands of solid rivets are used to assemble the frame of a modern aircraft.
Solid rivets are used for permanent fastening, especially in aircraft and other situations where structural integrity is paramount. Use countersunk and brazier rivets to streamline exterior surfaces and round head rivets for maximum strength. Rivet machines are the best choice for riveting rivets in a factory setting, and rivet guns are ideal for construction site jobs. Heatfastener has a solid rivet for your heavy-duty manufacturing project. We offer rivets in a range of sizes and materials to meet the needs of your fastener application.
