Specification
Self locking flange nut is a lock nut with a flange.Lock nuts are permanently attached to the threads of the nuts with special engineering plastics. When self-locking nuts are used with bolts, the engineering plastics are squeezed during the tightening process of the internal and external threads to generate a strong reaction force, which greatly increases the friction between the internal and external threads and provides absolute resistance to vibration. This resistance is completely distributed in the entire meshing section of the internal and external threads, and this friction force has nothing to do with the tightening pressure between the internal and external threads. Once the screw is slightly loose and the pressure is reduced, the friction force will disappear quickly and the anti-retreat function will be lost, so that the screw will loosen.
Advantages of self locking flange nut (locknuts):
- Excellent anti-seismic performance: the normal force generated when the anti-loosening nut is tightened is much greater than that of ordinary standard nuts, and has great anti-loosening and anti-vibration capabilities.
- Strong wear resistance and shear resistance: the 30° slope at the bottom of the nut thread can make the locking force of the nut evenly distributed on all the threads of each tooth. Because the pressing force on the thread surface of each tooth is evenly distributed, the nut can be more durable. A good solution to the problem of thread wear and shear deformation.
- Long service life: The apron of the anti-loosening nut has good flexibility, is resistant to weathering and is not easy to loosen, and the locking performance still maintains the original effect after repeated disassembly.
Disadvantages of self locking flange nut (locknuts):
Cannot adapt to extreme environments. Too high or too low a temperature has a great impact on the locknut, and the locking effect of the nut is greatly reduced. The quality decreases after electroplating heat treatment. During heat treatment, it is very easy to cause foreign matter on the surface of nylon and damage the thread. Locknuts are widely used in agricultural machinery, public facilities, and other fields due to their integrated nature, convenient installation, reusability, and no need for washers.
